Not a Perfect Mother

Not a Perfect Mother

         (From not a Perfect Daughter)

Sometimes she understands me, sometimes she don’t;
Sometimes I obey her unquestioningly, sometimes I won’t.
Sometimes we are on the same page, sometimes we are at odds;
Just like that is our relationship;
Because neither am I nor is she- a god.

Sometimes she understands me without me saying a word;
Sometimes over her ego, my screeches get unheard.
Sometimes I feel my feelings for her are at distant;
Sometimes she feels me as a disappointment.
Sometimes for days we don’t talk and have fight;
After some days we get along as nothing happened and unite.

This is not a typical poem on unending mother’s love;
I and she- we both are human, not god and above.
We don’t have a perfect relationship;
We both go through arguments and hardships.
Because we share the same gender and blood,
Doesn’t mean we will always be flowing with love’s flood.
Every daughter and mother have unique relationship,
Don’t generalise one’s relationship;
Sometimes we fight like foes which further strengthens our friendship.

No relation is born perfect; even when one is born from another one.
Sometimes she leaves me behind, sometimes I overrun.
But we make sure we still are on the same road.
‘Perfect daughter and mother’- the title we may not be bestowed.
As sometimes we are perfect, sometimes we are not.
