My Lover

My love lives near me;

But I can’t see.

I used to love that person wholeheartedly;

And that person loves me even more,

That person will put on a smile even if it’s sore.

My love, for me, grows exotic flowers;

Once used to mesmerise me, but now has been overpowered.

My love, for me, grows lush green meadows;

Once used to mesmerize me, but now has been sold to weirdos.

My love, for me, flows serene rivers;

Once used to mesmerise me,

but now has been dumped with so much malice that gives me shivers.

That person’s love for me used to be too strong,

But my disloyalty has put our feelings at distant, so long!

My love for that person has been overloved by my new lover;

It’s time to shamelessly uncover that cover.

My first lover is the exquisite nature who is lost in the past;

My new lover is the slutty money,

who despite my unilateral efforts, can’t forever last.

My lust for money (development),

Overruled one sided love of nature;

Always receiving and never returning,

I am a filthy creature!!

In the name of development and ‘MY’ home,

I destroyed nature and unhomed animals forlorn.

For the sake of my 2nd lover’s suffice,

I betrayed and did my 1st lover’s sacrifice.

At last, my lover, nature’s truculence revealed,

Outburst of a novel virus, I’m put in ‘MY’ home...sealed!!

Karma showed up, my 2nd lover betrayed,

And my life got hauled up.

I looked at my past - Disdain;

At present - I’m in pain.

My 1st lover nature, still got a soft-corner for me;

Watching me crawling back and forth in pain,

Put beside me a happiness key.

I looked outside my window for hope;

Nature showed me clear skies, lush green meadows,

And exotic flowers again and provided me scope.

I talked to myself, “is it too late?”

Birds chirped and nature replied,

“It’s better late than never,

It might be stormy now, but it can’t rain forever.”

It’s my first and only love, Nature;

A magnanimous creature,

Who even after this bitter betrayal, still forgive;

But will I be able to step up,

Prevail over my greed and concomitantly live??

It’s time to reveal my veil,

Who am I??

I am a human…. (A deep sigh)!!
