Sweets to sweeten success
And Puja to thank God!!
Miraculous Diwali....!!

Diwali is one of the most popular festivals of India. It signifies the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It is celebrated at the end of the cropping season because of which it is associated with wealth and happiness.Myriad mythical beliefs have been linked with this propitious day, some of them are :

  • (most popular) - Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.
  • Pandavas returned after 12 years of vanvas and 1 year of agyatvas.
  • Lord Yama and Nachiket, on the Kartik amavasya, narrates the story of true wealth, knowledge and right vs. wrong.
  • (oldest one) - in Vatsayan Kamasutra, the festival of lights kown as Yaksha Ratri.

According to the most popular belief where Lord Rama has returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, the Ayodhyavasis (citizens of Ayodhya) commemorated the return of their righteous king by illuminating the whole country by lighting innumerable rows of diyas.
'Diwali' is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Deepawli', meaning rows of diyas. Unfortunately Diwali has lost its true essence in the recent times. Lightening has altered its form from lighting diyas to bursting crackers and spreading happiness to spreading fear among forlorn animals.
Crackers, sounds like so much fun, but it is not the case with our forlorn animals and birds. We all can witness the shivering and quivering of the stray animals during Diwali. Most of them search for a shady and dark space to hide. Cats and dogs have hypersensitive ears, the deafening noises of crackers become one of the factors responsible for their precariousness in their life.
"If only animals could speak, they would say no to firecrackers with a begging plead!!"
We, as a human who is known for its  trenchant distinction between right and wrong, are unable to decide what's good for us and what's hazardous for us.
This picture shows the irony at its best, whilst knowing the hazards of bursting crackers, bursting crackers is 'must' !!
Here we can't even blame the government, Supreme Court of India directed everyone to burst crackers for only two hours, between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., on Diwali. But we let down the judgement by mocking it on its face.
It's our fundamental duty to respect laws and protect our environment. Never forget it's never too late. We need to get started from today only, not procrastinating on tomorrow. It's high time to realize that we need to build a roadway to cleaner, greener and safer environment.
Even the technology is in our favor, green crackers have been introduced to us which emits 30% less harmful gases, according to the current scenario we shouldn't be bursting crackers at all but at least we can switch over from traditional crackers to green crackers.
Instead of squandering in crackers, feed the poor, you will surely feel blissful. In place of the material gifts, gift each other plants as a small contribution is capable of big change.
You, who is reading this, are capable of bringing the change that our society needs.
"Do it now because sometimes 'later' becomes 'never'.
"Celebrate a safe Diwali, if you really want to celebrate it forever on Earth."
